“A little prevention can go a long way” and “it is much easier to maintain, than it is to try to regain your health once you’ve lost it.” I know you have heard these statements before, but there is a serious epidemic going on right now and I don’t think many people are paying attention.
The numbers are alarming–just for this year alone in the United states–60 million people will suffer from some form of Cardiovascular Disease,13 million from Coronary Artery Disease, 1.5 million Heart Attacks alone in which 500,000 will be fatal and 30% of the time there is no signs or symptoms. There is 1.3 million new cases of Cancer diagnosed this year and 500,000 cases result in death, 16 million people have Type II Diabetes in which half do not realize and 23 million people have impaired glucose tolerance or preclinical Diabetes and aging 30% faster than the normal population. Macular Degeneration which causes blindness, Alzheimer Dementia, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis and Obesity are all becoming a norm when we start looking at one’s health.
As individuals, we all need to do our part. We should not wait around until something goes wrong. We need to actively start the prevention process as soon as possible. For those of you in your twenties and thirties, this is a great time to educate your self in Bionutrition. The process in which you regulate your blood chemistry with proper vitamins, minerals and nutrients to prevent free radical damage which cause degenerative disease. If you are in your forties or fifties, you still have time to catch up!
The research shows Coronary Artery Disease starts in your teens and Cancer is a multi-stage process which takes decades to develop. Excessive stress, excessive exercise, exposure to pollutants in the air, food and water, exposure to tabacco smoke, sunlight and radiation, medications and chemotherapy will cause oxidative stress and will produce significantly more free radicals at this time. Oxygen is utilized in the cells of the body and when there is more free radicals creating an imbalance then there can be damage to the fats, proteins, cell wall, vessel wall and DNA nucleus of the cell.
An anti-oxidant nutritional program will prevent damage to our cells in our body. The most important anti-oxidants are fruits and vegetables. As a society, we do not even come close to consuming the adequate amount of these nutrients each day. Rantfoxtdistioten . We need to supplement our diets with good, pure vitamins. Vitamin C, E, Beta Carotene, Glutathione, Selenium, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Bioflavinoids are the main anti-oxidants which will combat those nasty free radicals!
I encourage everyone to start as soon as possible. Disease is on the rise and our adequate nutritional system has diminished. It’s a long steady and consistent process, but the rewards are vast! Good luck!
